Murray Wood

Chairman

Murray Wood is currently the Managing Director of Canterbury Television. He has been a performing musician for most of his life and was the founder of MagnumMac, the largest independent Apple computer reseller and of NatColl, New Zealand’s largest specialist private tertiary provider of reative digital technology courses.Murray is also on the board of publicly listed Renaissance Corporation Ltd. and with his wife Nicki maintains a 12- acre lifestyle property and their six children.

Alan Jolliffe J.P.

Deputy Chairman
Alan is currently the Administration Manager for Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury. He has held senior management positions in Local Government,Tertiary Education and NZ Historic Places Trust. He is also a trustee for the Te Kohaka Tuhaitara Trust and Chairman of the Christchurch Garden City Trust which runs the Festival of Flowers and member of several professional organisations.

Marlene Le Cren
Previously Head of Performing Arts at Linwood College, Marlene has been Arts Advisor for the Christchurch City Council since 2001. The role includes administration of the Creative Communities Funding Scheme which is arts funding allocated to local authorities from Creative New Zealand, and also management of Councils funding relationship with major arts organisations in the city.
Brian McCrorie
Brian McCrorie is a retired partner of a medium sized charterered accountancy firm, which practises in Christchurch, where he acted for a wide range of clients in a variety of professions and industries.Over the years, he has been, and still is, involved in the administration of many not for profit organisations.
Steve Jones
Steve works for Westpac as a Business Manager and has done so now for many years. In a voluntary capacity Steve is currently involved in the Leadership Team at Emmett Street Christian Centre and as a Trustee of the Shirley District Music School. Steve has previously been involved as a School Trustee at Windsor Primary School and Shirley Intermediate School for 7 and 3 years respectively.
John Dryden
John has been a town Planner and Surveyor with central and local government and private practice in Wellington, Christchurch and Western Samoa. He is also a former City Planner, Christchurch City Council, responsible for city planning and environmental policy and urban renewal, city centre improvement and heritage projects’
Maurice Till MBE
Maurice has been active for many years as a solo pianist and accompanist and has taught a number of outstanding young pianists. Maurice has been involved in musical administration both within the university and national artistic organisations.

Bronwyn Bijl

Music Centre Manager

Bronwyn has worked as a music specialist in the classroom, a private piano teacher and as an administrator in the arts over the last 30 years. Bronwyn is passionate about the continuing future of the Music Centre. It is a unique community facility in Christchurch where all ages can learn, perform and listen to a wide variety of music in an excellent environment.

Trish Rainey

Music Centre Concert Co-ordinator / Assistant Manager
Trish has been involved with music for much of her life playing the piano and singing. Trish has three school age boys who are all pursuing music both at school and home.
